Haven't named her yet. I dunno where the idea came from, but I suddenly got inspired to draw a glowing spider. The spider part is a first for me, but I'm satisfied with the result. As for her upper half, I was just trying avoid a human face so I went with something that was meant to look sort of arachnid, but it turned out looking kinda draconic instead. She's probably a hybrid species with distant draconic heritage, but calling her species Arachne is much simpler.
As for who she is, I've had an idea for an arachne in part of Shuffle's story, but I never finalized a design, so she's taken that spot now. Born far underground in the depths of the ruins, she's never seen the sun and has very good night vision. Her mother taught her of weaving and magic, and she chose to combine the two. Not only can she magically manipulate her silk, she can channel elemental magic into it. While she is a skilled weaver, she's never been exposed to actual fashion, so her "clothing" is only meant to keep her bust in place when she walking up the walls and across the ceiling. She's friendlier than almost anything else living down in the depths, but she's rather lonely living by herself, which is what prompts her to join up with Shuffle and her party.
I initially wanted her back markings to be pseudo eye markings, but I couldn't figure out how to make it so it wasn't too obviously just eyes drawn on her back. So I just made some random markings. All her glowing markings are natural.
