I drew this during the last week of the life of My Sun, Apollo. We took everything day by day, but on the day we drew this together, I worried he would not see me into the New Year. We tried giving him pain killers to just get him to the New Year, but he couldn't make it. I wanted to draw something that he'd be proud to see. Something he would feel comfortable leaving behind...hope.

He'd want me to hope for a better future, a better 2026. Fire is the yearly element, so Ga Xie is bringing the element into the new year, along with all the hope and love left with me.
