A few of our chickens, pecking about in the fall. They're fun to watch! Birds have a lot of personality. They get very chatty when they see me, since I usually bring them stale bread or a bagel as a treat. Otherwise, they eat the usual feed and corn. We have heated water dispensers for cold weather so they don't encounter ice when they want a drink.

Chicken update: We have extreme cold here right now - single digit days with sub-zero overnight. The chickens are fine (= Their coop is wrapped in multiple thermal blankets and they enjoy the coop heaters. We check on them several times a day and they seem to be weathering the chill just fine. Those silly hens still like to get out and scratch around in the snow during the day.
