You might have already heard about my Sebastian x Damien AU project that I announced on discord (which was started with the motorcycle artwork I did some time ago). For the last 3 days, I’ve been working on their story, doing my research and reading for hours about things I want to include in it. I don’t know how much of the story I’ll actually share, as it evolved from just one drawing (and a joke about Sebastian and Damien’s relationship—they were never meant to be together, lol!). But for now, the story in my mind fleshes out my characters even more, giving them more depth to their personalities and to who they are in general. And this is what I love the most. This AU started as a joke theme just to learn how to draw motorcycles, cars, and combat boots, because I was always afraid of these things (they’re just so hard to draw!). And with every artwork—even if made in pain—I’m becoming more and more fascinated by them. I guess that’s what going out of your comfort zone looks like. I hope you’ll enjoy more modern art from me, even if most of my work is fantasy-themed. It’s good to take on different art topics sometimes!

Now, here’s the finished artwork of Sebastian in the car, which I really liked because of his funny expression. He’s trying to look confident and flirty, but his behavior never matches it, and Damien knows how to quickly bring him back to reality. This scene might give off a more serious tone, but it’s really just one shot from a dumb interaction between Sebastian and Damien. This is how I see it:
They stop at a gas station to refuel the car. Sebastian, asleep for most of the journey (because he never pays attention to his surroundings), finally wakes up from the sudden stop and quickly gets bored alone in the car while waiting for Damien. Damien, being a great friend, buys him a big bag of sour gummy candies to surprise him with a massive dose of sugar. In the meantime, Sebastian thinks of something stupid. The door opens—Damien looks at him unimpressed.
D: Get your dirty boots off my seat.
S: —giving him this look— Make me~
D: —rolls his eyes and drags him out of the car by his legs, then casually gets in and closes the door—
S: —cleaning dirt off his pants with an angry face— NOT LIKE THIS, DAMN IT!

So, I hope you like the finished look of the artwork and the idea behind it I had a ton of fun drawing Sebastian, as always! His cute face makes me happy every time I look at him. And I finally feel good about my art again—I’ve said many times that I hate colored art—but black and white is my thing! Maybe I could try that technique where you add color to already shaded black-and-white artwork...? maybe!
