I attempted to get a picture that demonstrates the visibility from the rear. Here, you can easily see the visibility improvement with the new drilling method (right). When I have the head sitting in what I consider the "correct" position, I am looking through the lower forward part of the eye. About 45° down from the horizontal center line of the eye, towards the center of the nose. From here, there is a slight blurring. It makes discerning small details, like text, at distance difficult. But I do get 3D vision so long as I do not move my eyes side to side! However, if I tilt my head down a bit, I am looking forward through the centers of the eyes, which have no vinyl, and I can discern small details at range with little to no distortion. Also 3D! Any direction I point my eye in, I have full peripheral vision, in 2D.

This is the most outstanding milestone in this project yet. My theory for functional reflective vinyl mesh eyes is completely possible!
