The deceased is one of two Japanese men buried in Hillside Cemetery in Monson who were studying at Monson Academy. He was originally from Yokohama, and about 30 years old.

"The Rev. Samuel Robbins Brown of the Monson Congregational Church was instrumental in bringing the students to Monson. He traveled extensively to the Orient, returning with dozens of Japanese and Chinese students over the years.
