Once there was a Shinkansen known as the 200 Series. In 2004, disaster struck her. Hit by a direct-hit earthquake at close range, she derailed while traveling at over 200 km/h (125 mph). Yet even as she derailed, she endured, preventing a rollover and protecting all passengers and crew members without a single casualty. She was scrapped, but she remains etched in people's memories as a heroic train.

Her name is “Toki 325.”
It's the name of the guardian deity that still remains on the Joetsu Shinkansen line.
