Masoud spending his time by smoking with a long pipe (رؤرهن تنباکؤ, ruren tanbako). It's typically used by rural Zardebins, but the ruren has a fashionable status among some Zardebin youth in urban areas. Ruren smoking usually uses a local tobacco variety called Homânyi (هٔؤمانیئ), which has a gently spicy yet floral taste.
Some rural people, however, would mix it with cannabis (or just use the whole grass outright), but Masoud simply haven't gotten around it yet. Maybe our polecat ought to explore the mountains more next time.
Also, the tile pattern on the background is the Zardebin version of the Galeanic quincunx, which has been adapted with the nearby Kahvrani motif.
Bonus stuff. Let's learn a sentence in the Zardebin language:
...شئ وؤنیئرؤ سغاچؤسه اکه کهو زرداکئیه غؤرهځهژ
Ši vonayiro saghâčose âke kew Zardâkiye ghoredzež...
("You met me at a very Zardebin time in my life...")
