I dont really dislike noctowl, but, it always struck me as boring; I expected a more impressive bird after seeing its pre-evolution with those red eyes and black colors. Reading some pokedex entry i saw that he was called “the emperor of dark nights.” , so I decided to apply that to his design. The red eye is just a plumage color to mimic a false eye
