The Grand Tournament: Ichi-gou vs Lucius "New York Showdown"
Picture was done by
Ryoken, (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6146708/) and it's his commissioned impression on the battle thread between my character Ichi-gou (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6121075), and my opponent for the the first round, Lucius (http://isamahii.com/index.php?topic=288.0)
The fight took place in this thread, on the Isamahii forum: http://isamahii.com/index.php?topic=320.0
Yes, I know the first post could have been better. I was going for a bit of balance between cryptic, nostalgic, and still get the details right that would be noticed by the crowd who would have viewed the thread (in that particular roleplay community I had a pretty good idea of who would be reading the posts, and what their prior experiences were). That does kinda mean that those who haven't been part of the storylines (or even read any of the storylines) might be a bit lost. Which..meh, I don't mind so much. I think the thread and the dialog reached the intended audience well enough.
I won the fight, as you'll notice by me being granted the final post in the thread. It consists of Ichi-gou finishing off Lucius in an appropriately post-apocolyptic New York style. I noticed that Ryoken went for a more animalistic interpretation of Ichi-gou while he was working on the piece. He included small details, like the shape of the jaws, and small hairs sprouting from Ichi's ridged shell. It makes for an interest contrast between high-tech and modern attributes, and animal features. I also like the presence of the Warp-fog (the Veil) mentioned in Lucius' profile. It adds a nice bit of creepiness to the character, and a bit more of an ominous feel to the piece.

Ichi-gou actually ended up not just blowing him in half, but dropping the Empire State Building on-top of him.
T'was an excellent battle, all honesty. My opponent was well written and accepted the loss gracefully, and this was actually part of the tournament that led to Ichi-gou being dubbed a Grand Champion.
