I adjust the hem of my snug blue-and-white cheer skirt—still a perfect fit after all these years—as distant shouts erupt from the living room: *"That's a bullshit call!"* one of the guy barks at the TV. The polyester fabric clings to my hips just right when I pivot on the hallway carpet, pom-poms whispering against my thighs. "Bet they forgot I still got the routine memorized," I mutter, as walk into the room to show the guys I still have the moves.

The poor guys are about to get distracted from their silly game.
