Also, I do like Celestia, and don't think she's a troll, if I did, I wouldn't have named one of my ships after her. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/5.....806E48E911CC1/ - Heh, take a guess what class it is though.
See, that's such an amateur thing. "Durr hurr I'll pretend I'm an idiot and do what he just told me not to and it will be funny, durr hurr" ...except it's *not* funny. It's just childish.
Not to slam you specifically, just that I see people doing that EVERYWHERE, and it is NEVER funny, EVER.

I disagree with the assumption that Celestia couldn't figure out the cube, she just needed more time. Time that Luna had (because she hasn't been appearing in the series</rant>).
Of course Celestia will have Luna teach her. That's a good family activity, and make Luna feel better about helping with other things, like the sun, the moon, keeping monsters out of the settled parts of Equestria...

I -do- like to think of Celestia as maybe a -minor- troll, since she does like to have fun.
But I do get really tired of seeing everyone put her out as either some sort of tyrant, or as some otherwise mean-spirited pony.
I actually like the way you handle her. The DDR thing was a good example. Celestia in goofy situations somehow is incredibly funny to me.

I've also concluded that Celestia is no troll. She is more like a kind, trickster goddess, who uses a sly wit and sense of humor to teach important messages to her students and subjects. One such "lesson" in friendship forms the basis of the TV series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic which I think is an incredibly clever plot device and was perhaps Lauren Faust's greatest contribution to the show.
A lot of people hold the opinion that Celestia's immortality has led to alleged psychological disorders like multiple personalities and revenge psychoses. My own opinion is that while she is immortal, she is also an enlightened being, and thus beyond such physical and mental disabilities. And, as an enlightened being, she is helping the other ponies reach her level of consciousness, in slow and gentle stages, as embodied in her relationship with her star pupil, Twilight Sparkle.
Then again, I may just be over-thinking this little girls' show a bit too much. :)

Masterfully handled I'd say.
:p love tongue out thinking Luna.
I could just see Celestia getting actively mad at that guard though. Going on a rant about how people always say she is going to do that or what have you. And then banishing him to... truant officer! XD or something. You try dealing with CMC truants.

That was more or less my original intention, but I didn't convey it very well in that last panel. But I like the interpretation someone on ponibooru came up with, that they've gone through that process already, and now the guard and Celestia are just sarcastically joking. :}
I could see that, yeah.
The way I see it, canon wise, Celestia is just trying to maintain her regality, take the path of least resistance when possible, and have some fun where she can.
When you're over 1,000 and a ruler you're probably quite sick of arguing in general and insisting others treat you normally, y'know?
Non canon though I do see the fun in imaging her being trollish or (an amusing) tyrant. One of the joys of fan works is to do silly things, y'know?
