With a surprise visit from Sissilik! In shirt form!
But the Hakkar armor continues to form. Not a standard armor for the rats for sure. But they are all over - I'm sure they could get some Lamallar from Cathay. Maybe even made for them! Eshin and some rats can be pretty smart about not stabbing skilled crafters. Either to steal their stuff or *gasp* even buying it?! Zhao Ming has to get his Warpstone from somewhere after all for all the experiments he does.
All the pannels are complete in the first picture. Just not all of them lined with the green paracord. While in the second and third one they are all lined and de-threaded enough for me to thread the straps through the threads to make them good and strongly attached. Using nylon to hopefully keep weight down and to make for easier strapping. Leather, fake, is also used in the bottom right armor pannel in the second picture. The left shin top. And while this was also simple to work with its way stiffer and so much harder to strap on. Especially alone.
The chest armor that you can see me lacing up the green perimeter in the final picture is also not how I wanted it to be together. But time ran out and I had to have it work somehow for the Kingdom Level Event that was on the weekend. One day after that picture was taken. I had wanted them to overlap with the straps holding the chest secure to me and snug. But the straps were threaded into the wrong place (too close to the edges) so the front and back pannel could not be overlapped as the straps wouldn't allow that. I would need to spend probably two hours de-threading both the front and the back enough to strap it up how I wanted it too so had to just secure both pannels together with plastic zip ties. This makes it pretty floppy on me but at least according to all the reactions of 'oh my god so cool!' I got at the park day and then KLE it was something only I really noticed. Will be fixed eventually! The shoulders also need to be secured properly to the straps there so they stop sliding around but I'll improve it in time :) The chest itself also hangs to low. I need to cut the shoulder straps about an inch shorter to make it sit higher up on my torso so I can bend easier and to cover my arm/chest connection area better.
Finished pictures of the armor with me wearing it in the next few days! And a video.
