He is so cute, I love Magnus so much. Honestly this is a resurgence of an old hyperfixation I had as a kid, back when the game was first released.
This is some texture swapping practice too. I made the blush textures myself, of course.
Some context that I've considered could be if he were outed as doing something gay, or being gay in any sense. He could open up someday, but isn't too mature about it when someone assumes or accuses him of anything homosexual. Because he is so very that. So much that. I don't know if I'm just projecting, but honestly we need more screentime of this guy. I don't ever see the cutsceens where he freaking dies so it doesn't amount to much.
Considering this, It's hard not to make up ideas with the scraps of bread you're given.
Magnus has that, sexist towards women because he gets along with guys all too well and not women vibe. (I dont support sexism, this is just an explanation) At the same time, he feels as though by societal standards he needs to be straight. So that's when possibly him and Ellegard got together, and then broke up nastily out of their own homosexual incompatibility.
So then what, Magnus is just alone in his obsidian tower in Boomtown? Rarely going out? Sounds like a huge metaphor for how desperate he is to come off as a confident, always in control guy. Like, a huge dense closet he doesn't want to come out of. Always in control of how others perceive him by never showing them more than just that he is powerful and destructive. And when lets say, some g r i e f e r s in Boomtown accuse Magnus as being gay because X Y or Z. If it hits a nerve I could see him getting really, really red in the face. Immediately afterwards he'd pull out TNT and explode into running away, planning revenge because the embarrassment was too unbearable to leave it as is. Going back to the obsidian tower thing, when Jesse and Axel go to Boomtown and find Magnus, he puts up a fight in the end but is defeated by a sliver. It's not an overwhelming defeat, but just enough for him to gain respect for Jesse and Axel while still being stubborn. If you choose to go for Ellegard, Axel gets Magnus on his own.
So lets say thats what happens, I think is could be like a metaphor for Axel allowing Magnus to relax around him since he's got nothing left to lose. Not being king of Boomtown anymore and all. Axel gives off the vibe of gay protective chill, yet playful mischievous best friend. A big presence that feels like effects Magnus by having this new power dynamic in his life. Although it's not shown, in season two when you continue your save from season one, Axel remarks how he has to go back to Boomtown to set up fireworks with Magnus. This line plays if you choose to kill Ellegard instead of Magnus. It's small evidence that shows he doesn't have resentment towards Axel and even perhaps could of loosened up after the death of Ellegard. Death changes people and they were still friends. The whole OG Order had a deep connection. That's why it upset Ivor so much when Soren yadda yadda...
Some deep emotions in that group that I like.
Anyways also Boomtown sucks lol and is full of assholes that hate everything but destruction and fireworks I guess, so imagine how Magnus would get treated going back to that place. If Axel is going to Boomtown in season two, it must become a common thing that happens. Magnus is accompanied by Axel on Axel's accord cause he can tell something doesn't sit right with the former king. When they arrive, Magnus gets bombarded with insults and acts of violence he is used to, but someone strikes a nerve that most around know better than to do. "Is that your new boyfriend, Magnus? Got a little too comfortable after getting your title destroyed? We always thought you were a little b!tch the way you'd hide in that stupid tower of yours!" Etc... You could guess he wouldn't like all that too well. He'd get red in the face and run away, Axel trying to run after him to comfort him. This makes Magnus feel like that's just making the whole situation worse, when actually someone just cares about him. Magnus hates how red his face gets, but Axel doesn't make fun of him for it. They just kind of sit beside each other, in silent peace for a moment. It's much needed right now.
