After leaving it only on other sites for years just like the Requite Introductory Piece, "Reverie: Something About Space" is making its way to FA, baby! I love this story very deeply, and it's probably due in no small part to the fact that it both took me 3 years to write and also contains THE defining characteristic I decided upon for the cast of Requite. Well, actually, the defining characteristics for Requite are "using words that start with 're' for everything important," and "each of the characters has their own unique, space-themed necklace that they're almost always wearing."
This is the story that explains what those necklaces are, what they mean, where they came from, and what they mean to the characters themselves as well! It takes place in a "post-VN" universe (even though the VN does not exist), and has big and yet vague spoilers for some of the stuff that would happen in said VN, if I... uh, ever got to make it. Obviously I could've just not included them, but I thought that giving hints towards something that may or may never exist was way better than leaving them in the dark recesses of my mind that only I know about.
In this post-VN universe- Oh, and also using Asef (again, my fursona/self insert) as the "main character" once more to make it easier on me, he's ended up with one of the 7 (or more?) potential partners. I keep it a mystery at first, but it gets pulled back fairly soon. Spending the night just in each other's company, the smallest thing sets Asef on a long journey of flashbacks, swapping between talks and moments with his boyfriend and reminiscing about those necklaces I mentioned: how the first one was given to him, and how he got one for all his friends in turn because of how impactful it was for him as a 10-year old, supremely awkward child. It's all about symbolism, fluff, anxiety, self-discovery, loving your friends, and maturing... and it's one of my favorite things I've ever written. I hope you enjoy it.
