Last but not least, the final member of Team Jet.
Methelza Muma is the daughter of Keiko Muma, a prominent and powerful underworld figure. Not the underworld of the ghost realm, but the underworld of the mortals - criminal syndicates and the like (nothing ever proven of course). In the past the Muma clan was very traditional, holding on to the old ways of the ghost realms and having little if anything to do with the world of mortals. Although dedicated to the old ways, they did not enjoy the power and prestige of many other clans.
One of her ancestors, tired of his clan's unfavorable position, made a deal with an elder spirit of the ghost realms - power and prestige in exchange for ten generations of servitude. The spirit accepted but did not grant the ancestor's wish in the way he wanted. The spirit granted power and prestige, but in the mortal world, where he would not have to worry about a potential rival. Ironically this act also led to his clan losing the one thing it had among the ghost realms - respect.
Methelza is the tenth and last generation bound to this pact. The bracers and chains bound to her wrists are a symbol of her clan's subservience to this elder spirit. However, Methelza does not accept this position cheerfully. In fact she does not accept it at all. Ever since her creation from part of her mother's power she has worked secretly to overthrow the elder spirit which binds her will, and her training at the academy is just one step towards this goal. When Felix Blackclaw was seeking to expand his business he had no choice but to deal with Keiko Muma. As part of the arrangement Methelza was assigned to the team of Felix's daughter Nicole as part of the business arrangement. Which is exactly how Methelza views her position on the team.
Misdreavus feed off of the primal chi energy generated by the emotion of fear. It strengthens them and gives them power. Part of the pact with the elder spirit is that a sizable portion of the energy harvested by her clan is paid to him in tribute. However, Methelza has learned to focus her abilities on a very specific kind of fear that slips beneath his spectral radar. Rather than feed on terror like most, Methelza feeds and draws power from the fear generated by self-doubt and depression.
Methelza's fear-inducing abilities have an insidious twist that reflects this. Rather than instill overwhelming fear or terror in an opponent, she will, by her power and her words, fill them with such self-doubt that they will convince themselves that they can't possibly win and that they're doomed to lose. If left unchecked they will subconsciouly sabotage themselves to make their fears come true - missing or failing attacks on purpose without realizing it. Although not as physically dominating as her other teammates Methelza is no slouch in a knock-down drag-out fight. She has trained in fighting disciplines and can control the chains on her wrists, causing them to lengthen or flail with the same precision as a bulbasaur with his vines.
Methelza is a brooding loner who generally keeps to herself. Most of the other students are somewhat creeped out by her, which suits her fine. Those who do interact with her tend to come away feeling depressed. Methelza takes her studies seriously and is a good student. She is an accomplished artist and a standout in Ms. Jiggles' choral class. Although Ms. Jiggles wishes she would try something a little less... depressing, she isn't holding her breath.

That back story is bad and creepy.
The two of Team Jet to fear the most.
So lets see Team Jet.
A "Dumb Blondie" who's cheerful & loyal.
A angry Fighter just wanting acceptance but not getting it from "sister".
A "business" student who's every Pokemon's worst fear. Young,loner, and don't give a fuck.
and finally...
The spoiled brat so spoiled to high heaven. That if she don't watch herself. It'll be her ass nailed to the
wall. I've always hated her and always will.
I know now more than ever this is a shaky team. But combined they're just about unstoppable.
I see her(Methelza) as the weakest link. Why?
It's quite simple. A business fallout
betwen Felix and Keiko and Methelza walks and that weakens Team Jet.
It ain't nothing but business for her.
She's dangerous.

Oh, her I like. I like alot.
I almost wince in fear of the day this team is (or if) ever pitted against mine. Crossroads is fairly disorganized but Jet looks to have most of its act together (via questionable methods, but them's the breaks) AND be a big wad of chaos waiting to annihilate whatever gets in their path. I'd be so screwed.

Hey, somebody's gotta be the bad guy :) I've never been one for the villains-as-clowns approach, a la Team Rocket. I'm much more a fan of the villains as something threatening to be afraid of approach. Like Dr. Doom, only in a miniskirt...
It actually makes me wonder if Principal Felinduce lets them get away with it just as a lesson to the other students. There's plenty of nasty, win at any cost types out there in the real Poke-world, they might as well learn how to deal with it now when the consequences aren't so harsh.

I just recently started following the Pokemon Academy development, and I'm really sorry I haven't done so earlier! This art has more than just visual appeal, it tells a story. Which brings me to my question: will there be a story that goes along with this? I'm really hoping there is!
Hmmm...I find her story very interesting. Misdreavus do tend to be very limited, only able to feed on fear. Gastly, and its evolutions, however, are able to feed on all the negative emotions of the living, even embarrassment (which is why they have a fetish for pranks and jokes). Just ask my extremely powerful 3897-year-old Haunter-morph character, Shyam Yalthulsoth. That's just a mortal name he took on recently in order to deal with mortals. In the ghost realm he's simply known as "Dark Vail". I wonder if Methelza has spent enough time in the Ghost Realm that she'd be able to recognize him. Would she recognize him?
