Once upon a time there was a slime mold... This is just a drabble, a little story about an OC pony idea I had that starts kind of weird, gets weirder along the way, and ends up pretty Mary Sue.
If you like this story, you can go rate it in FiMFiction, the Friendship is Magic fanfiction site. (For some reason OC ponies get hated on over there, so it's been rated down by everybody who bothered to leave a vote at all so far.)

A Mary Sue is a character that is just too good. Too powerful, too pretty, too good, etc. They're almost always obviously the author imagining him or herself put into the story, as the amazing, super-hero-like person they wish they were. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sue is a good definition, if a bit on the long side. :)
Achlys is Mary Sue because she ends up becoming the reincarnation of Nightmare Moon, which definitely falls under the "too powerful" category, but of course since she's not evil, and is part Rarity, she's also "too good" and of course she looks pretty, and is a personal character of mine inserted into the story, so she meets the definition pretty easily.

Hehe, it's a really interesting and different sort of idea, quite creative. :) I really like the way you describe it such that it makes you kind of feel like you can understand the way it thinks. For an idea that would seem so odd if you just described it, you've written this well enough that it really makes it engaging and fun. :) It's a very neat character idea!
