Cyril takes Jensen to Jollibee at his hometown of San Joséfo on Luna's Aitken basin.

Somewhat inspired by a series of tweets saying that since wanting to leave the country is such a big part of our culture, a Filipino will revolutionize space travel somehow, and we will build a Jollibee on the Moon.

I also made the size difference political theory post because a friend asked me during the sketching stage how the food costs worked, in particular with their different-sized glasses for drinks. Speaking of size difference accommodations, I thought it would be a neat worldbuilding detail if restaurants and other establishments provided 'booster seats', seen here under Cyril, to let smaller animals sit on tables with a mixed-size category group more comfortably.

The fried chicken and other meats on the table are probably either cultured meats or made of vegetarian alternatives such as soy. It would be difficult to raise livestock with the Moon's lower gravity, and I envision in this more advanced society, the factory farming industry has been outlawed, or at least heavily downsized.

I took Jensen and Cyril's outfits from characters in Planetes, which I rewatched recently. It is both one of my favorite sci-fi media and one of my favorite anime. I had no easy way of figuring out how the Milky Way and general starscape would look from the Lunar south pole, so I simply traced over a screenshot I took on Universe Sandbox. However, I did not account for the time of the year because I haven't really gotten a good grasp on when exactly things take place in this setting. [2026/01/26]
