The beauty of a spring cleaning.
I really like the maid uniform aesthetically. Big ruffles with the pure black and white fabrics got such a striking appearance! I also am aware that it's a fetish outfit for many, but I don't think I could make it look sexual, even if I tried. xP

Thank you! There's that beauty in all of those mundane process. How you line up the corners of the fabric and then slide your thumb along the middle of them, until you find the mid point. Then you pull it tight and shake out the whole to bring the new fold in alignment. Most of the time we don't even think about all those minute processes while we do it! :D
Thank you very much! I do like painting cute dresses like that. c:
On the poppies though, I didn't think about the symbolism when adding them. I mainly just thought about what kinds of red flowers grow out of the cracks in the driveway, because I wanted some more red in the back there! But now that I read about them, the seem to be strongly associated with fallen soldiers... With them in the back, that gives a kind of sense of moving on after hardship. Symbolism is such complicated tool in art! It's all about what other ideas things may evoke for the viewer. This one was one I wasn't aware of, but at least it's not a problem, I don't think. d:

When I started the painting, I had it quite colorful with fabrics in all kinds of colors on the line, but as I distilled the composition down, they where too much of a distraction from the intensity of the red. This pure red is the most intense color computer monitors can produce. It's all about contrast and resonance! The warmth and intensity is stands in opposition to all the other subtleties. Clean uniform shapes against fine details. I think I may have picked the affinity for those bold reds up in some of the studies I did? I'm not quite sure to be honest.
