Although her seniority made her eligible for a supervisory role long ago, Marie has refused promotion year after year. She prefers to be out and about in her beloved park, mentoring younger rangers, interacting with the public through heritage interpretation, teaching classes, and guiding the occasional lost hiker back to the beaten path. In her opinion, the out there is where she does the most good in winning hearts and minds, not behind a desk. She can be a little intense when it comes to respecting nature, and she tends to ramble a bit when it comes to talking about plants, but she does it from a good place.
