Squall lives deep in remote snowy mountains quite far away from any hint of modern civilization. Though, that isn't to say there isn't any sort of settlements or creatures living here at all; myths speak of a hidden away ice kingdom in the mountains of the gryphons, the stone arches carved from the mountainsides acting as takeoff points for its inhabitants.
