Dammit, this character is really fun to play around with. He'll probably show up in various other comics n' shit.
For this particular D&D campaign, we had to roll how well our characters knew about various things such as knowledge nature, knowledge local, knowledge geography, etc. and so on.
I rolled a 7 for Raleigh's knowledge nature, so he knows pretty much knows that nature exists and that's about it. His intelligence score is 17, though, and in D&D terms that means he's a fucking genius. Since I had in his backstory that he spent a vast majority of his life in the city, he's probably less stupid about nature and more PAINFULLY sheltered when it comes to nature.
Mostly just a quick comic to play around with doing a wordless comic and stupid expressions.

I don't blame him for being cautious in a world like D&D that adorable blue butterfly could put a curse on him or maybe its a spy or messenger of the Goddess Mielikki my ranger was a follower of that Goddess...btw Mielikki is one intensely beautiful curvy buxom woman<3 well at least how I designed her look based on a request from my DM
Blue butterflies are quite unfortunate then.
Usually in our campaigns, most everyone is pretty unattractive. Most of us make pretty homely characters to begin with, and currently we are rolling for random traits for NPCs. This means a fair amount of people in the town we're in have bad breath, bad body odor, missing teeth, etc.

That face! XDDD
I've always been a true believer that a good understanding of expressions and lines will always convey emotion better through a comic medium rather than realism, and that a little bit of exaggeration can take something from funny to drop dead hilarious. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part a good dose of squash and stretch makes my day. :D

AH HAH this is fantastic. You've just started submitting stuff of this Raleigh guy, but I'm already fond of him, ha. You are the champion of designing disgruntled, fat loser characters. ARE YOU PROUD you should be.
Also, I love that expression in the second panel. Mouths with the top teeth sticking out like that are basically ~instant endearment ~ to me.
