INTERVIEW DAY!!
the person interviewing me knew his stuff really well. And he asked me stuff that gets DOWN TO BASICS.
I had studied a lot of the required knowledge before the interview, but the very first thing he asked me about, in detail, was a skillset i had been neglecting for a long time... SUBNETTING!!! AAEERRGGHH!!
Had a rather poor performance in that aspect, in my opinion... it actually put a dent in my ego, the way i felt eviscerated by getting those questions wrong, as it's rather straightforward knowledge that should've been an easy answer...
Still, i think in some interviews, being able to recover from being proven wrong on the spot and showing how you behave under that pressure, can also show the person interviewing you how you react under those circumstances
To my credit, though my answer was wrong (the correct answer is 64), the logic i used to reach that conclusion was essentially the same i should have used to calculate this number, except i went the oposite way lol my answer is for /22 (1,024), when the question was for /26.
So i wasn't COMPLETELY lost ....
or maybe im coping lol HAAWWWW!!!!

I'm currently about a week away from my CCNA test and subnetting is a pain, anything more than subnetting a /24 and beyond hurts my brain and it doesn't help I short circuit with mental math.
I understand it's a base 2 system, but even then trying to do it on the fly is hard for me. There are great resources online for subnetting problems and I'm trying to knock those out confidently while also doing practice exams.
I hope you have a network admin job by now!!! Good luck!!!

congrats on your networking journey!!! i've never tried getting the CCNA, but i am very much fascinated by networking, so much more since i got this job!
and man i get the subnetting struggle for sure! it can be rough if you're not used to it and do it essentially daily
for calculating host count for anything larger than /24 here's a neat trick!
Think about it, since IP adddresses are 32 bits total (10101010.00000000.11111111.01010101)
that's one of the base numbers we use for a lot of this!
For example, if you have a /23 network, you do
32 minus 23 equals 9
then you calculate, 2 to the power of 9 which equlas 512!
that would be the number of addresses in that /23 CIDR! minus 2 (subnet ID, and broadcast address) so that's 510 usable addresses :3
and this applies to ANY CIDR if you want to know the quantity of addresses in a subnet. For a larger one, say a /18
32 minus 18 equals 14
then 2 to the power of 14 equals 16,384!
so that's your number of IP addresses for a /18 subnet :3
even for super big ones like a /8
32 minus 8 equals 24
then 2 to the power of 24 is 16,777,216! that's a lotttssss
Even though in practice you rarely see CIDRs that huge it's always handy to have a quick way to know the address count of a CIDR with a few inputs on your calculator
Also, i would 100% recommend this video series called "Subnet Mastery" by Practical Networking.
You won't need another guide after that explanation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWZ-MHIhqjM&list=PLIFyRwBY_4bQUE4IB5c4VPRyDoLgOdExE
I would also recommend his OTHER videos A LOT. It really changes your perspective when its explained in a vendor agnostic way, since vendors always focus a lot in the minutea of all the techno-specificities of their solutions (cisco), i know the study material can be so tedious, and it's hard to dig out the barebones basics of networking sometimes
best of luck with your CCNA!! i hope you pass it and so cool to see other furries passionate about networking on here <3

Nice art!
Anddd....
Hahahha happened to me once!
You know the interviewer asked me about the people who work in the politicians of my country and then....
I said " sorry I don't know! "
Hahaha
Guess that I'm so werid because of I keep my smile all the time! ( most of the time... there's some exception there of course! BTW! )
and one thing I really think that is reaaaaally helpful is what I call it " acting friendly " and also, having a nice and a bit big smile and also one more important thing that you reaaally have to work on is that to " have so much veracity " . I don't say that you dont say lie or something ( I think that you shouldn't say lies at all but! You can hide things! I think tht we are not perfect ( and U also think we can become perfect but it's another different thing that I don't wanna talk about right now though hahahhah I'm a bit lazy though^~^ )
Oh! I think that we are not perfect or something like that but! Hiding things and impurities we got and makes us weird or uncommon can be hidden by ourselves to mkae us look much better and then! You can just reveal yourself more and more or I'd like to say " layer by layer " (!) To people who you feel better with ( It's kinda hard and most of time those people aren't the good ones at aaaaall * siiiiigh *
BTW!
I think one more thing you can really work on is lowering your blood pressure by feeling peacefully or by some herbs
Let me suggest you some then! Cause I kimda got sick these month and I was looking for some remedies **
Here you go! ( you can just buy one of these and then add boiling water and some sweetners )
Rosemary: it is written in my book
Rosemary is beneficial for stress, headache, blood pressure and some more stuff!
Also! If you high blood pressure it is said " It is better not to use for people with high blood pressure disorder
add some powdered dried leaves to boiling water which you got in your mug and then cover up the surface of the mug with a glass or something! Then let it sit there for about 10 or 15 mins, Here you go!
Also! A reminder: rosemary is kinda strong with lowering blood pressure, so you gotta be careful with the amounts you use! And one more thing is that children bellow age 15 shall not or I better say must not take this brew ( I read this in one of my books so I wanted to make you aware of this dear! Hahaha )
Olive tree leaves :I've gathered some from last months and then Today I used some! And now I think that it was good! I didn't see any warning about this but be careful that kids don't take this one too! You know I'd like to be careful and try to prevent terrible stuff from happening rather than seeing them happening in person%_%
Aaaaah
BTW!
I've read this in my book:
Add 20 pieces of dried olive leaves to 300mls of water and let it boil for 15 minutes. Add some sweetener and take one cup twice a day. Do this for two weeks, after two weeks stop drinking this brew for 8 days and then after that 8 days start drinking it again ( it means that do this as a cycle like
14 days drinking | 8 days don't drink | 14 days... )
Also! I think that if you really don't know some questions's answers just say " I don't know " !.
Like, there's one saying from Muhammad the prophet " saying I don't know is half of knowledge "
Hahhah it's my translation so that might look sketchy or something but I just wanted to share you this lol
Cause, you know! I think saying I don't is start of eeeeeverything! And It's the blooming of tendency flower and It's the beginning of your learning journey!
So don't worry! After saying " I don't know " in your interview you can say " excuse me for this, I'm a bit stressed now, forgive me please "
Also! One last advice I'd like to give you is thaaaaatttt
Act with puuuure politeness! Take control over aaaaaall your words and think for any scenario that might happen in there before you go! Make it like a game though! But!
One more thing is that if things didn't run as the way you were preparing for just don't worry! And stay calm!
Hmmmm
You can imagine like you are talking with a frined which you are communicating with by politeness
Having STRESS isn't bad and It's completely normal and natural thing but! If you let it take the control that'd trying on you!
I was a bit talkative again I guess!
Hope this stuff be helpful for you dear!
Wishing you the best!
Have a great day hon^v^~♡☆•.
