Keldryn Tensynara, oh where to begin. Keldryn is the second character I have created for my cousin's Pathfinder 2nd edition campaign. She's of an original species of my own design, the Naktehl, who were actually repurposed from an old sci-fi worldbuilding project I ended up shelving, with my GM giving me his blessing to work them into his world. Safe to say I got far more done here than I ever did back in the sci-fi setting.
Keldryn was designed about a year into the campaign, as I wanted to create a character who would serve as "first contact" both in the in-universe sense as well as the meta sense, for the other players in the group!
I'm gonna rip the bandaid off and admit it, yes I have a type. I like big strong scalie/scalie-adjacent women. I take pride in it. Keldryn in a way represents both the distance I've come in my own knowledge of character creation as well as overcoming the fear of being "weird" for making characters that I'd personally find hot.
As such, her lore is MUCH more dense, but I will still attempt to put in the important highlights;
- The sole survivor of her ship being sunk by an unknown adversary as it attempted to approach the campaign's main continent on a diplomatic, first contact mission (on which she served as tailor to repair clothes and the like). Obviously this had a significant mental toll on her.
- "She is blue for a special reason." Naktehl are not usually this vibrant. Her blue colors are actually the result of exposure to extremely high ambient magic during her conception. The innate magic that is stronger in the souls of Naktehl reacted oddly with this, resulting in an overflow of magical energy, allowing otherwise impossible traits and mutations in the species (like blue spots and copper based blood) to occur. Game mechanics wise this is represented by her having the nephilim versatile heritage!
- Her species sees through frequencies of magic as opposed to light, via a sense they feel in their souls. As such, they can see all around them at once, but can't see color or light. Only the physical and arcane shapes of the world around them. (Her latent magic, due to her mutations, was so strong that others of her kind, at least when they were young, were actually scared by her presence).
