Original Species: Squallvern
The Squallvern is the apex predator of the coastal and mountainous parts of Shambhala. Thanks to its immense wingspan, this wyvern can soar for days without rest. Its superior aerial maneuverability allows it to take down both flying prey (smaller wyverns) or swoop down on aquatic prey that got too close to the surface of the water.
Quite often, the Squallvern can be seen swimming in shallow water and picking off slower-swimming fish. It's not a very prolific swimmer, but certainly performs better than most other wyvenrs.
This wyvern's name comes from a quite scary ability that it has. The Squallvern can manifest localized storms; magical areas of effect with strong wind and heavy rain. It uses this ability to hunt smaller wyverns who can't handle such severe weather conditions. If a sudden storm appears, it means that a Squallvern is hunting nearby.
On top of weather manipulation, this wyvern has a powerful, water-based breath attack. This highly pressurized beam of water can shoot down prey or cause avalanches if aimed at mountain slopes.
Nothing is safe when this aerial beast is on the prowl.
