Cyrus, Waterdeep "Businessman"
posted 3 weeks ago Some Sort of Lizard Dude
Finally finished a design for one of my friends of his character in a Waterdeep: Dragon Heist game we're playing in. This being of Cyrus G., a Human Sorcerer with some draconic heritage given his subclass. He was set to be a king for a country far beyond the Sea of Stars, yet his princely title was stripped years ago as his kingdom fell to the ground. Taken over by an orc brigade, he found himself in Waterdeep years later, eventually partnering up with a priest of Umberlee and knight of the city. While he does try to use the two's griefs to make himself bigger and stand above them, Cyrus' arrogance usually clashes with Rosary and Donovallo, as he often disregards life and limb to make himself stand ahead.
I was worried that the background buildings were a bit too colorful, as I wanted them to contrast Cyrus and his more neutral color palette (as I tried sticking to his Hero Forge model), but thankfully people seem to have loved the sky. Funnily enough, the pattern in it was just due to me not being as familiar with drawing clouds, so a nice happy medium with implication. Waterdeep has a lot of Dutch architecture from the little I have seen in research (trying not to spoil the plot, even if our DM is doing his own thing), so the building themselves were quite fun, if lengthy to do.
I'm looking forward to our next session of Waterdeep. The DM brought up to me while I was carpooling him that after we do whatever for the first in-game day of the session, the following day while have Donovallo confront the man who may be responsible for hurting his partner. Just gotta make it through three more days of work. Outside of that though, thanks for viewing! If you have any feedback, I'd appreciate it.
