Don't take him for a doddering old fool, though -- despite his age, this Paralogos is still quite spry and is eager to share his vast wealth of knowledge with anyone that will listen to him.

He tends to behave in a "whimsical" manner, befitting one of the common depictions of wizards in fantasy tales. His flowing robes give him an almost ethereal quality, and he often seems to float from place to place when searching for magic items in his home. He also has a habit of speaking in an airy mental voice, though he can drop into thundering octaves if his friends or collection of books is threatened. Despite this, he still has a reputation that mostly regards him as a kindly, silly old man that is eager to greet guests and entertain them for an afternoon. Merlin's house can be a bit... messy and unorganized, but once he remembers where an item is stashed away it takes him mere moments to locate it.
