A rough sketch from a few days ago thinking about potential scaling for Sass & Pal. Rigged together a slightly more refined rendition to mixed results too!
Thus far they've consistently been inconsistent throughout a variety of works, and while this acted as a good opportunity to just practice Pal (I got abit carried away with the detail for a sketch and the focus) this does show a fairly neat potential sizing of the two.
I still need to tinker more and do similar sketches to really narrow it in, this atleast keeps both at similar height, but I worry Sass is still abit too small. Its a tough balance to reach as if I make her too big ridding looks far too cumbersome, but i also dont want to make Pal too small. This scale I find roughly nice but I worry about the sizing of elements like the heads and hands relative to eachother.
In general it should be noted I picture Sass at a scale generally bigger than most avali depictions, more so just under head height or so a usual person but I dont feel confident in really locking it into anything until I can get the characters themselves feeling right, let alone sized up against normal people.
In general I feel I had a rough time proportions wise with Sass once actually on Pal, even wit the standing solo model not being the most stable. Pal himself turned out pretty cool for a random sketch. The waving is cute nod to their original riding piece, I wanna do more complicated actions and interactions with other characters while they do the whole rididng gimmick but seeing the present struggle with even this I worry that may be awhile off.
