Kalvin hatched on Baxania 2, the second planet of the Baxania system and a planet with a fascinating variety of fauna, ranging from primitive humanoid races to small and large creatures with sometimes very fascinating abilities.

Kalvin was one of those, but back then he didn't have a name, he didn't even have a conscious.

Born as a regular wild rathalos he was a wild creature having no self consciousness.

When he was about 12 years in general defined age the newely opened Union research station of Baxania 2, orbiting the planet and shielded from being seen by an general cloaking field determined that rathalos as a good subject and beamed him up.

For a few weeks the rathalos was kept in the stations large bio dome with an exact replica of the area the flying wyvern was occupying on the planet.
Until one day he was sedated and after a deep brain scan, researchers finally implanted the Dison developed consciousness chip.
The chip integrated itself with the rathaloses brain, scanning through the memory and over the next 48 hours constructed a base consciousnesses.. a base of what Kalvin would be from the memories, characteristics and experiences he already had.

The first time, he woke up.. he was someone, past.. present future.. he looked at himself. That rathalos, was aware of himself, he.. is someone..

Under close guidance of specialist personal he was guided through the process of self realization. A process very critical to avoid mental instabilities.

In the following months the rathalos learned, he became more competent communicating via the speech synthesizer as his body is of course not anatomically able to talk.

Other monster's with consciousness chips that already joined the staff helped Kalvin choose his own name and learn more. Tests were made by the science staff, under the highest humanitarian standard per Union regulations.

About 3 years later. Kalvin was given a choice, get the chip removed and send back down to the planet to continue his life how it was before.. or become a citizen of the alliance.

Kalvin choose the latter. He learned a transformation spell using powatra magic, something that is mandatory for beings like him to take a bipedal shape.
Then he joined the Union academy after living a few years on the Unions Homeworld terra prime, studying and training to become a Union command officer.

Over the next few years Kalvin rose in ranks and serving on several ships. Showing an immense potential in his negotiation ability, intelligence, tactical thinking and ability to lead and command. His character and moral was liked very much, Kalvin swore to the oath of what the union and the United Galactic Alliance stands for, believing deeply into its ideals.

Then finally.. at the age of 35 Rodriguez got promoted to Captain. He's made an name of himself and was granded the honor to command the USV Olympia https://www.furaffinity.net/view/63701330/ . The newely launched flagship of the alliance.
