I'll tell you hwhat - it's been very freeing being able to draw my own characters and ideas. Eliada is not a new character, but an old one who needed some proper artwork. Coloring a base did not do him any justice, but this, THIS definitely does, and I drew it! I love him so much. ;o;
That pose with the sword was crazy hard. There's basically zero artwork of dragons with swords in a pose like this, but I managed to find something (sadly don't know who the original artist was as it was off pinterest) that was similar enough and go from there. I'd say the paws on the sword itself were the hardest part, that alone took me several hours I think. xD
Lore blurb:
Eliada is a guardian of a grand, magical library that he can manifest anywhere he wants. It appeared small and humble on the outside, and much, much bigger on the inside. Rows and rows and floors and floors of knowledge collected from across space and time, even ancient artifacts, took up almost every inch of this mysterious building. To enter, one must present a piece of knowledge to the dragon. The knowledge gained from the library can be used for whatever one wants, but try to take anything physically, and Eliada will have a problem with it. That sword isn't just for show.
(He is loosely inspired by Wan Shi Tong from Avatar: The Last Airbender. :3)
