Behold, at your call the Capricious Captor
Comes to light as no mere Caricature
but a Calamitous avatar of the Cosmic Balance
the Cost to your Crime
The upper Crust of this world
that Collude and Consort
only to Control and Collect
from the Common Community Crave
to be Carved away like Cancer!
...
Heh, heh, heh
Of Course
if this Compounded Communication
leans to Complex allow me to Convey
to my Curious Consort
You are Contained Controlled
And have the Captivating honor to Call me
Catchcat~
Imagine if in a different life, Marie's apothecary friend made medicinal potions so powerful that she could sell the rights to them for huge sums of money. Now imagine that a pharmaceutical company filed a fraudulent lawsuit against her in order to drain her finances and ultimately acquire the rights to her potions. Finally, imagine if a silkat watched as systems of "justice" did nothing to help her friend while leaving those who hurt her to get away with no consequence.
The result is a silkat that takes justice into her own claws, That is Catchcat.
Catchcat is a variant of Marie who decided to put her intellect and silkat abilities to take revenge on criminals who she sees as having "gotten away with" their crimes. She has no qualms against breaking the law to do so anything from theft and B&E to blackmail, kidnapping and even torture. Catchcat has no respect for the authorities and most superheroes that hide their unwillingness to dole out justice behind exploitable "laws".
She refuses to kill or harm innocents, but considering innocence is decided by her own morals, that can be a bit dubious. However, petty criminals don't seem evil in her eyes. In fact her good terms with smaller criminals is one way she gathers information and leads. Despite her methods she can come off as light-hearted if a bit antagonistic and mocking. Thanks to her goals and methods however, shed is disliked on both sides by most heroes and villains.
Catchcat has the same natural abilities as Marie but her suit grants her several more abilities. It is made of latex that is filled with extremely powerful nanites. These nanites are controlled through a wrist mounted computer on her wrist. She "acquired" the tech early in her career and has regularly upgraded it to the point it is now
Energy Absorption - The Nanites in her suit can absorb, diffuse or redirect any energy that would affect Catchcat. Heat, electricity, kinetic energy even just light; all harmless when wearing her suit. (Though the nanites notably struggle with magic.)
Tec. Interface - The nanites allow her suit to connect any technology she can touch to the computer on her wrist. Any program or computer system is then a triviality for her to then hack and control.
Molecular control - With the computer on her wrist, she can control the nanites to break down and store the suit inside it. Likewise they can build the suit around her. In this state the suit is like a liquid until solidified by command. This also allows her to remake the eyes on her suit for night vision, heat detection etc.
Weaknesses
Cold - Her suit and by extension Catchcat is vulnerable to cold. While Catchcat herself is very resistant to cold due to her naturally thick fur. The suit can do nothing to protect her from ice and cold based attacks Cold being the absence
of energy.
Overload - While the suits nanites can absord and redirect massive amounts of energy, too much can overload and shut down the nanites. Magic energy can do this with much smaller amounts. The suit might as well be normal latex until the nanites reboot.
Hacking - -While she has made firewalls, her nanites are not immune to being hacked. If someone manages to take control her suit, they can break it down or reform it however they please.
Reposting this pic with a big lore dump since I finally nailed down the lore for this version of Marie. By the way, if you have a hero/villain character or know someone who does, please chat with me! I'd love for Catchcat to interact with other characters in art or Rp.
