Practice: Tree Spirit
Ah, traditional. My achilles heel. D: Good exercise when you're art blocking, though~
This is practice for an upcoming trade, to test out some different colors and techniques. Traditional scares the hell out of me, so I can never be too careful. :'D You know, I realized that I actually don't have purple watercolor. o__O It's... extremely annoying, so this weekend I'm going to the store and picking up some different shades.
I know you can MIX it, but honestly... I've never been good at that.

Man, that means a lot to read! Thank you.
I guess I remember how much I struggled my high school year with this stuff, so I'm always overly cautious. If I see those big bottles of tempera paint ever again... I'm gonna cry myself to sleep. >__> Those were so awful, lmao.

Lmao, I did totally forget to write that down this one time.
Jelly Roll for the gel pen (FOREVER LOVE), and Faber-Castel watercolor pencils—which work pretty well with or without water, I found. The watercolor/gouache was just cheap Reeves stuff... I think I got it on sale or something. X'D

It's both the charm and the curse, I think... I never can tell how it's going to turn out, so my mind always whines to go back to digital. Then I realize I'm just being really lazy, LOL. >__>
Thank you! ;3; Gelly Roll pens are so nice for white crispy outlines... I've never gotten as much control from a bottle of white ink before.

LOL That's my process too... "THERE'S NO UNDO. /CRY" And the inability to test colors out without ruining the sketch under it. Digital art has spoiled us. ; ^;
Gelly Rolls pens, huh? They certainly look really nice! I'll toss those on my wishlist for the day when I stop being stupid about drawing traditionally comes around. xD Also you're welcome! <3
