Hi! I wanted to share my first 3D model from back in 2024, I had these renders sitting around and decided it was about time to post them Ω©(ββΏβ)ΫΆ
In 2024 I took 3D classes for a few months where I learned the basics of modeling, and from there I pushed myself into character work and applied what I learned from objects to anthro. Itβs definitely not perfect (the wings and hair especially), but for my first ever 3D character Iβm really proud of it turned out!
Everything here was made by me from scratch, topology, UVs, skeleton and joints, painting weights and texturing.
(Also, in the wireframe shots the back horns look overly subdivided,, it's bcs I forgot to unsmooth before taking the screenshots ,,)
I havenβt touched 3D much since then, but Iβve been thinking about getting back into it probably in Blender this time since itβs a lot more user-friendly than Maya.

It definitely took a while, some parts were really tedious like the retopology and weights painting but seeing everything come together and the model start to work properly was so rewarding. Thank you so much JV :D Iβve drawn her in 2D, animated her before, and now Iβve finally realised her in 3D >:)
Congrats :D
Hope that lessons hadn t been too stressfull.
Starting from skeleton ,surely taken a lot of care and her hair and also legs in action pose on the left are already very good!
So you re planning to use this kind of model as an avatar in some chat or program if I ve understood well ^^

AAyyyy ; v ; heck I remember you bringing that up, wondered how that went and seems the class went super well! She looks incredibly gorgeous, think you did really well with all the different bits of her design translation even for your first time. Sure parts could use some refinement but that's always how it goes, still did great here and quite appreciate ya sharing the learning process! ; v ;
I would recommend Blender if ya jump into it again though, from everything I hear/have heard Maya is a travesty that does nothing but make anyone who uses it really sad as it randomly nukes or corrupts your save or just doesn't save and you lose hours of work....Blender seems better in that regard! Or at the very least is now more widely used and lets ya have fun with physics too! :3 fheeh.
But yes, real good stuff herrre ; v ;b great first steps I hope do get built upon again!
