The next two days were nothing short of delightful. Chelsey was actually staying human, and Demona was able to keep awake more when didn’t have to use magic as much. The next two days were like old times again, and Chelsey was more than thrilled to greet her husband back from his business trip. Chelsey wasn’t seen much after that, maybe once or so in public, but it was all clearly their own business. It was like nothing was wrong, maybe an improvement as her husband seemed to be fond over his new muscular woman.

 
Demona stepped away after that, they probably wanted time with one another, and she now had new friends in the school teachers. With Chelsey not there, Demona mostly was following them and doing what they liked. After a few days, one of them turned to Demona, “Y’know, you really haven’t suggested anything this whole time, Dem. Is there anything you’d like to do?”

“I.. I’m not really into stuff you all may like.” Demona said, “Dress shopping, Puzzles..” her voice got quieter, “Dancing.” 

“There actually is an Escape room place that opened up in town.” Someone suggested, “It’d be like working through a massive puzzle.” 

“It… It would?” Demona said, nervously, “How does it work?”
“Basically, you try to solve puzzles and work as fast as you can to get out of a room, shouldn’t take more than an hour.” 

Demona heard them mention the time, and then checked her watch. Then she smiled, “Yeah let’s do it.”



Needless to say, Demona’s last week of Spring break did go really well, and she heard so much from Chelsey after that too. And then Demona got a call in the middle of the night.

“Hello?” Demona groaned, 

“Hey, Demona?” Chelsey called, “Are you awake?” 

“I am now…” Demona said, “What’s wrong?” 

“Well, um… a few things…” Chelsey said, “It looks like the ring holds for a real long time. But it comes off instantly if the… ring falls off…” 

“And you need me to cast the spell so you can fit it back on?” 

“Yeah, B-but not right away. It can wait till later.” Chelsey said, “But… This happened in front of my husband…”
“Do you need me to explain things and re-enchant the thing?” Demona groaned, “Do you know how much you are asking of me, in the morning?” 

“I-.. Yeah, Something really unexpected happened.” Chelsey said, “Colton didn’t just take well to what happened, but… He seems to really like hooves… and cows…”
“Good night, Chel.” And Demona hung up the phone.
