Alt version of the original piece but with a detached, floating neck instead of a collar. Maybe he's ready to show off a "magic trick", either slotting his hand between his neck or pulling his head off to the side as he swallows his friend, acting as a portal between the bottom of the neck and the rest of his body!
When I was doing the linework on the original, I initially drew the collar separately with the intention of merging it with the base line layer. When I hid the layer to check if any of the lines bled, I was left with a floating head, giving me the idea to make this alternate version!
