The Severance is a major faction in UberQuest—it’s not just a side plot, but a main driver of the world’s conflict, explains the history, racial tensions, and character development. Dropping it entirely to focus solely on monster battles would undermine the depth and interconnectedness of the story we’ve spent over a decade building.Valmont is a duetaroganist in the comic as well and this is all in service to facillitate future plot-beats that yes, tie into heavily the political stuff.
Also we haven't been just doing the Severance arc in the past three years? We've build up Zysa and the Kingdom of Alder along with characters relationships and arcs along the way.
Chapter 8 specifically is meant to explain the Severance and set up key plot-points for the story- UberQuest *is* a war story with political intrigue.
The main inspirations are stories like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones and the summary of the plot is explicitedly stated in every single description of the comic online.
That'd be like going to DC and telling the people making Batman comics to just stop having Batman fighting crime.
