My thoughts exactly. While there are several games where you got to play as a dragon protagonist, none of them have peaked in the dragon department (in-fact, most miss the mark by lightyears). DotD, despite its flaws got closest in that regard.
The concept art showing Spyro moving fire with his mind shows we could have got a pyrokinesis ability. But it could be taken even further. Picture this. Holding R1 to charge a basic fire projectile, then holding circle while charging it to make a nearby fire source explode, as a sub-ability. Anything from a torch on a wall to an enemy mage charging a fireball in their hands, or simply an enemy you lit on fire before throwing them into a group.
