One thing I like to do in my fanworks is to exaggerate a character's feature. I make Houska's hair wavy and longer; I draw Noelle's antlers in such a weird way that sometimes resemble crosses or antennas, and here, Berdly is, well, feathered like a dandelion, if that makes any sense...
