Name: Cerro Albrecht
Age: 22
Gender: None. Identifies as male.
Orientation: Undecided
Height: 6'4
Build: Tall and lanky.
Powers: Able to manipulate sand.
Personality:
A very meek and cowardly grem, his bitterness towards humans and Grem Corps is almost palpable. It doesn't take much to set him off on either of those subjects. Yet he is deeply caring of the people he's made friends with. His trust is fragile and he often has trouble building meaningful relationships. He likes to talk big and act like a punk but a closer look reveals the truth. He's scared and unsure of who he can turn to.
History: Cerro was commissioned by a wealthy family to be the friend and guardian of there sickly son, Warren. Treated as one of the family Cerro and Warren were practically brothers. They discovered Cerro's powers as children and practiced them together secretively on the shores of their beach home. However as Warren grew older his sickness faded away leaving a scrawny and rebellious teenager.
He quickly fell in with the wrong crowd and Cerro wanting to keep him safe followed suit. They often snuck out at night getting into all sorts of mischief and using his powers to hide their tracks in the sand returning before their parents woke up for work. The two quickly found themselves in trouble late one night. The two had been vandalizing property with spray paint and breaking windows to impress their new friends.
As sirens sounded everyone scattered and they found themselves running through lawns and jumping fences trying to avoid the law. While trying to lose the officers they lost track of time. With dawn quickly approaching they reached the beach and Cerro hastily started covering their tracks by manipulating the sand with his hands behind them. An act Warren's parents, standing on the porch unnoticed with arms crossed saw in full.
They acted immediately, reporting Cerro to Grem Corps as they pleaded with Warren to get away from him. They blamed Cerro for Warrens recent delinquent behavior as the sirens that had followed them grew louder. They threw several items at the scared grem as he tearfully tried to plead with them.
Warren was scared of the consequences of their nights actions and without meeting his eyes told his parents that they were right. That Cerro was the one who that told him to do it. As authorities closed in, Cerro was forced to flee. He generated a sand storm to cover his tracks as he ran. Warren had betrayed him. His family had cast him aside.
The first night alone was the worst. It was cold and it had started to rain. Having always wanted for nothing, Cerro was wet, cold, and hungry. All he could see in his mind was the fury and fear of the people he'd called his own parents. The feeling of resentment had started to blossom. He felt inferior because of what once made him feel special. He was defective, dangerous. Or so they had said. Cerro became resentful of humans and gremcorps as a whole.
It was rough at first but Cerro adapted to the streets. He had no choice. He does odd jobs and tries to remain under the radar. His resentment for humans means he interacts almost exclusively with other grems. He has adapted a skewed sense of morals towards grems and can be easily led astray by his own kind. On the flip side his distrust for humans leads him to bitterly avoid them and always assume the worst. After all, they'll just turn on you when it's most convenient.
Present: Living under the radar is difficult. His love for the ocean lead him to settle down in abandoned shipyard along a wharf. He lives in an old warehouse carefully fortified with whatever he can find or steal to make it more hospitable. His only company is a somewhat tame inkquine that he's named Marro.
Other Info:
*It is possible for him to trust a human but it's not an easy task. That trust is also easily broken.
*He hates liars. The easiest way to lose his trust is to lie to him.
*Sand is always carried on his person though not in great amounts. He has grown skilled in using it for self defense.
*Grems come first. He will drop everything to help one of his own. A fact that makes him easy to manipulate.
*Has a pet inkquine named Marro. Marro's name means 'sea'. He uses his sand powers to help with fishing to feed them both.
Cerro belongs to me.
