Art dump coming soon. Also, Rocky updates.
The fact we still have Rocky despite the scare we got last year isn't lost on me, nor has the generosity of this community faded from my mind that when he broke his leg almost 10 years ago (blows away like dust) you all made sure he continued to have a full life of running around and being a jerk to our cats and the squirrels and birds.
That said, it seems like Rocky is coming up to the end of his story. He's really slowing down. His legs are weaker, he's less steady walking through snow, he can barely stand for more than a minute before his back end begins to sag to the floor. He spends most of his time sleeping (as you would expect from an old dog) but the suddenness of seeing him struggle to even go down the stairs or hold his bowels so he doesn't poop in the house.... we can see the end in sight.
Thank you furries, for giving Rocky his best life. It was because of you that we have him now. I have no idea how much longer he'll be able to hold on for, but I'm sure he'll let us know when he's had enough.

He may rally in the spring and the difficulties he's having walking might just be weather related. It was almost exactly this time last year that he gave us a fright but then rallied once it warmed up. We'll see what happens... but he's an old dog with an old, severe injury. We have to be realistic, no matter how much we love him.
And Rocky was already close to 2 years old when we got him, so he's at least 12 years old now... for a big dog like him, he's right at the edge of the average life span. However, in 2020, I started taking him for 3-mile run/walks until he started slowing down and didn't want to run anymore, so I think his heart is still strong. It's going to come down to his quality of life, because I don't think his heart's going to give out first.
