In a world much like ours but different in a way that will soon become apparent, a man inherits his grandfather’s bungalow on a quiet street and grows to learn that humanity is not the sole property of humans.


Sexy Suburban Monster Men began as a series of twitter threads years ago describing the residents of a suburban neighborhood. It’s a world much like Earth as we know it but humans share the planet with an array of fantasy folk, elves, orcs, goblins, minotaurs, and more.

I started those threads due to the viscerally negative reaction I had to the movie “Bright” which tried to do urban fantasy but was so wrongheaded, misguided, and abysmal that something inside me cried out to make something better in that vein.

“Kro’Chark Neighbor” is the first work of any substance I’ve done with the concept. And I plan to expand this cozy world with more slice-of-life short stories that tell the tale of how one human moves into the neighbor and sees that “monster” is something one does, not something one is.
