The Galedrifter, a stormcutter subspecies. This rare species is found around oceans and large lakes where they hunt, their food source almost primarily being fish and shellfish, but will also hunt small animals. This intelligent species are often solitary, but have been known to bond better with other dragon species and humans. Their gentle, but powerful nature makes them ideal for dragon riders and their protective tendencies make for excellent partners who are willing to lay down their lives for their companions.

Meet, Boneshard. This galedrifter is the dragon companion to the traveling adventurer, Wayde. The two met when Wayde was a teenager and was attacked violently by another dragon. This attack left him with serious facial scars due to burns, but ultimately, his life was spared when Boneshard heard the attack and came to defend the human. From that day onward, the two have been inseparable, and now travel to see the world and what it has to offer.
