a lot has changed since last year, so i decided to do an update on this sheet! here are all the beasties in my brain
for reference, heres the old one: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60901239/
Vetiver quickly became my main/'truest' sona. Moving from the Appalachians up to Michigan made me realize that I absolutely belong here, but I still wanted to bring a part of my hometown with me. So I went with a not-deer/Appalachian cryptid sona. She's also the first sona I designed to be fem presenting from the get go
I'm sad to admit that I no longer recognize Warren's old fursuit as "me" whatsoever. On days off, I'm going to be completely rebuilding the head and swapping the colors on the legs and paws to look like their new design. I have a boar headbase from ligris cybernetics for the look I want
Durian I've used a lot less frequently, but they're still very dear to me. I've been focused a lot more on Brine for dragon stuff. Her story is very obvious and on the nose symbolism but I'm having a good time and that's all that matters. I'm going to be working on a fursuit of Brine's mate Raven (my gf's OC) this spring
Otter and Seal similarly have seen less depictions in my art but are still there. Otter I debated erasing because I originally designed them during my "I think I'm bisexual, actually wait I'm totally wrong I'm just a lesbian like I've always been" era. So I made them more masc and based on otters as in the body type, which really only makes sense in a gay guy context. But I still enjoy scary river otters, so I've kept them around regardless. You're more likely to see seal though in the future. I don't consider myself explicitly butch anymore (nor femme. I don't like to be put in boxes anymore), but to the average person I very much appear to be. The fact I wear some flowy gothic stuff and alt makeup really only serves to make me like 5% more feminine compared to the rest of my appearance, so I'm fine with people still casually calling me butch if they insist on doing so. It's just not something I actively call myself anymore, I dont want to be a part of the butch/femme dynamic (though I was always butch/butch), which feels really weird to admit considering how butch was the core part of my identity for years, to such a degree that i went by Butch as a name for a while. Things really do change in ways you'd never expect.
Snooter will always be the same as they are, except for the whole shapeshifter thing which actually makes them different all the time lol
Amaranth/Briar is brand new. I've always wanted a chakat or otherwise big cat character but could never commit to one, but the inspiration finally struck. Hopefully she sticks around, I really like drawing her markings. chakats really give me gender envy
Pink wolf is honestly just a petplay persona lmao. The last thing you'd expect from me is 1. a canine character that isnt a horrific werebeast, and 2. a pink hyper feminine one. And yet it happened through the power of extreme trust in another person
If it seems odd that I'm calling all of these characters sonas despite having completely different body types and personalities, well thats just kind of how it is around here. I'm sure this will change again and again and again. I'll keep updating it as we go
