Aver's a chinchilla, so he's barely 4 ft tall and has fur so thick you can lose your hand in it. So being chewed out by him feels remarkably like being chewed out by a stuffed animal.

I actually wonder what that would result in. He's intelligent enough that I have to imagine he'll clean the water out before it causes any adverse effects, but also I imagine it's probably a pain in the butt to take care of.
