Optional additional backstory
Left before a Loviatar's temple as a baby, Kalystra was raised in self hatred and perpetual pain because of her diabolical heritage. Of course, she had no idea where this could come from; all she knows is that because of it, her soul is soiled, forever.
Despite her innocence, she was treated as a monster and had to work a thousand times more just to fit in, which resulted in her being one of the most devoteed priestess of her covenant. With age, her magic grew, and, despite all the punishments she would get for using them, Kalystra knew it was a great gift... or a curse.
Decades went and passed, until a violent epidemic starts spreading across the region, infecting and killing a huge chunk of the population so quickly that many thought it was the end of the realm. Soon enough, two priests died, then the head of the covenant, a maid... Everyone in Loviatar's sacred temple fell, one by one. Only Kalystra seemed untouchable. She healed them, again and again, but there was nothing that could be done.
By winter's end, she was the only remaining member of the cult. For once in her life, Kalystra was in charge of her own future.
Maybe it was finally time to put that magic to use ? It was common knowledge of the presence of forbidden scrolls in the basement. It was a heresy to yearn for the dark scrolls and yet, Kalystra defied all she was taught. There, she learned about necromancy and an idea came to her mind. If she were to bring back the members of her covenant as her personnal servants, it would serve her Godess, right ? She could spread Loviatar's faith again ? What if, with all that power, she could find the root of her devilish heritage and destroy it entirely ? For that, she would need a larger army, one that would follow the lone priestess blindly...
About her design
She is a Kirin, but, for the sake of DND "lore", she could be a Dragonborn or a Kobold.
Because of the brutal faith she was subjected to, she always adorns her hellish horns with candles, the wax always burning her. Her horns grow when she fully uses her natural sorceress powers.
She has wing at the base of her tail, which she always keeps chained and hidden. She was shamed for their existence during her youth and will not use them until it is necessary. And yes, she can fly : )
The cracks on her legs "light up" when she uses her powers.
The pattern on her wings are scars acting as a "seal" against evil. It doesn't work for some reason.
The mini one shot
I play DND very often and have been a DM for my friend for a few years. I can make a custom story entirely made from scratch and can adapt around your setting and PCs !
I will basically provide a monster sheet for Kalystra with all her stats and actions, a town setting with interest points to explore, NPCs to talk to. I love to add music in my own DND stories so I can also create a playlist just for that : )
However ! This is my first time doing it for someone else and I am willing to work with you as much as possible to create a great mini story.
