A while back I was randomly thinking of what Linkle's horse's name would be (if she had one) to sort of mirror Link's "Epona." For some reason I thought "Apples," but that's kinda not great, so I thought ok then put it in Japanese (Ringo). Better but eh. How would Nintendo have localized that in 1998? Probably Ringoe. And thus he was born.
I imagine him being very smart (for a horse), and with a better sense of direction than Linkle (granted this bar is very low). He's something of an Irish ("Hylian"?) cob, and could be chunkier maybe.

I love when you draw critters that aren't dogs or mice <33 NOT THAT I DON'T LOVE YOUR DOG AND MICE ART! but you are so talented, it's so cool seeing other animals in your style as well! I LOVE how you did the eyes on him, they are horsey but not unnerving as real horse eyes tend to be.
