Every pirate crew has somebody who plays the squeezebox. Alexander believes his shanticular stylings help keep the men's spirits up, and that as ship's first officer maintaining crew morale is his responsibility anyway. However if his belief is mistaken he's unlikely to find out about it because criticizing either his playing or his singing naturally counts as exhibiting bad morale.

But Lexie's talents extend beyond work songs and nautical folk ditties. For instance, he likes to torment Artie by playing the larcenous lion's "leitmotif" whenever he notices him slinking around somewhere. (Have you heard the noises he makes when he's frustrated? Hardly those of a "big" cat. In any event come and watch, it's priceless.)
