Kha'eshan Bestiary: Golden Shnorn
Going along the coast, south of the Great Coastal Grasslands, travelers will eventually reach a warm, temperate region of the Eruth Continent. This area forms a border between the Grasslands of Doh'aheer and the Great Southern Forest. Swamps and marshes are a common part of the local landscape and are home to a host of different creatures.
The Golden Shnorn is the most common large herbivore in this region. Its large, wide paws allow it to traverse the muddy grounds of the wetlands without sinking or getting stuck. It wanders on an eternal search for soft aquatic plants, which it scoops up with its prehensile trunk.
The Golden Shnorn's most distinctive trait is the massive ceratinous horn growing from its forehead. This horn serves both as a weapon for fending off predators and as a tool for moving aside thick reeds and other plants. With its size, the Golden Shnorn works as an environmental architect, creating pathways through the wetlands, making them easier to traverse for both people and other creatures.
Within this region, both the swamps and the neighbouring grasslands, Shnorns have developed into a wide array of forms, with several species living here.
