According to legend, Shigeru Miyamoto was taken aback at the suggestion that pre-rendered 3D sprites a la "Donkey Kong Country" be used for his game... to that end, he had the art-design of "Yoshi's Island" reworked to resemble children's crayon-drawings. A reminder to Nintendo to never question their Golden Boy.
