This is very cute.
Even though Dagger is a bully, a bad boy, and a tough gang leader, I like how he always shows his softer side with Jim, and he lets Jim give him hugs and cuddles whenever he feels like it. The same can be said about other villainous tough guys that Jim is on friendly terms with, like Igor, Reckon, and Malice Wolf.
And I think it's because Jim doesn't discriminate with his affection. Jim likes his bad boys about as much as he likes his heroes, and he's always very sweet with them, even if they're supposed to be big bad, intimidating villains. So I think they've all grown to enjoy having a fan and an admirer like Jim in their corner. They like showing off how manly and tough they are for their little buddy, and they don't mind showing him some affection in return when they're keeping him close. It's really sweet, actually.
